Wanderers hosted touring side Banbridge Blue Sox on Saturday.
50 players and officials came over from Northern Ireland and were greeted by the wanderers committee and former presidents/captains/players.
The teams were piped onto the pitch by Fraser Smith along with our mascots Fallon and Nairn McWilliam. Ali Gilmour who has had to retire from the game brought on the match ball.
The game was competitive but played in tour spirits. It ended 21-10 to Banbridge.
Leo peerless scored both wanderers trys.
Voted by the Banbridge team were
MOTM - Duncan Coull
Man of steel - Sammy Aliberg (our captain on the day)
Festivities were held in the Groats Road Bar afterwards.
Shirts, ties and crests were exchanged between presidents and captains.
Thanks to Banbridge for choosing to visit us. We have been invited there next year.
Thanks to all volunteers on the bar, food, beer runs, tent installation and tidy up.
A true club effort from the youngest at 6 to the oldest in their 70s.
