Whether it was the bus trip down to Dundee, or the odd sideways slope of the pitch, the U14s struggled to get going in the first half. Michael did get us on the scoreboard first, but Dundee put in 3 converted tries in the first half, as we sat back too much waiting for them to run at us. A consolation try on the stroke of half-time put the score at 12-7 to Dundee.
The second half took on a different feel after just 10 minutes, Ben, Daniel, Nathan and Michael scored tries. There was much better defense tackling the Dundee forwards and they struggled to get the ball. After 1 Dundee try, Fraser and Louis scored, followed by Finn twice as we rolled to a convincing win 33-19.
The game was played with 14-a-side to match Dundee numbers. Thanks for the substitutes for swapping out, I suspect the fresh legs in the 2nd half did make a difference.
