The first game of the season saw Dundee travel to Groats Road but unfortunately they were unable to field a full team with them having only 11 players available, the game commenced as a development match and we gave Dundee a couple of players to make it 13 a side.
Straight from the kick off Dundee scored a converted try to give them an early lead before Granite City hit back with some great flowing rugby which culminated in the team running in 8 consecutive tries before Dundee hit back with a try. The final 3rd was much closer as the defensive line speed dropped off and both teams traded tries before a brace of tries at the end extended the advantage for Granite City.
Overall a very encouraging performance with plenty of attacking rugby on show which allowed both wingers to score a hattrick, not to be outdone the forwards produced a strong performance and dominated in the scrum throughout the match.
