Unfortunately scheduled League match became a development match as Muntly only arrived with 8 x U13 players.
Within the "game on" Philosophy Wanderers loaned 5 x players to Muntly in order to facilitate a 13 v 13 match.
Match was played over 3 x 15 minute periods, to allow a different set of 5 x Wands players to be rotated into the Muntly side for each period.
Due to inexperience in the front rows, scrums were uncontested (no pushing).
This format allowed all U13 players to get as much game time as possible.
Despite the development game format, the match remained very competitive, with excellent rugby played by both sides, the Wands players joining up with the Muntly guys really seemed to relish the opportunity to play against their own teammates.

1st 15 Minute Session:
Match started very competitively, with 2 x even matched sides, Wands players on both sides featuring strongly to set up and finish some good tries. Muntly scoring 3 x tries and 2 x conversions whilst Wands scored 4 x tries and 3 x conversions.

2nd 15 Minute Session:
Another 5 x Wands players were rotated into the Muntly side.
This session proved a little more one-sided on the score sheet with Wands running in 5 x tries with 4 x successful conversions versus just 1 x converted try from Muntly.
However scoreline didn't really accurately represent the competitiveness of the session, with Muntly unlucky not to score more. Was only some last minute try saving tackles and some very quick reactions at the breakdown to snaffle up loose ball that lead to the Wands tries.

3rd 15 Minute Session:
Again another 5 x Wands players were rotated into the Muntly side.
By this point all players were visibly tiring due to lack of sub's, however this led to some excellent rugby as tired legs meant more passes were strung together. With the Wands players teaming up well with the Muntly players, Muntly came out top during this session, running in 4 x good tries versus 3 from Wands, as the wind had picked up all conversions were missed, some only very narrowly with the ball rebounding off the posts.
Final Score: Wands 43 : Muntly 27.

Overall a very productive session, was great that despite low numbers Muntly still travelled to Groats road as it meant more game time for all players involved. Credit to the Muntly players who had no rest over the match due to lack of subs, they played some great rugby and combined well with their new Wands teammates on the day to make it a very competitive and hard-fought match.
