2nd friendly match of the day at Banchory saw Wanderers v Garioch.
Much improved performance over the Deeside game, Wanderers playing with more urgency and improved tackling technique and physicality at the breakdown.
Wanderers scoring 6 x tries versus 3 from Garioch.
Wands tries scored by:
3 x Tries from Matthew Herbert, following on from his physical performance in the Deeside match to secure an impressive hattrick by barreling over the line.
1 x try from Leo di Meola with an excellently timed run to punch through the Garioch defense.
1x try from Joshua Walden successfully touching down after chasing a cross field kick.
1 x try from Samuel Wallis.
Overall a great day out for Wands, with encouraging improvement seen over the 2 x games.
Some impressive personal performances, but a good win as a result of effort from all players, especially from our newest squad members experiencing their first competitive match.
Also great to see the supportive squad mentality on show with injured player Matthias coming along to support his team mates on the day, get well soon!
Match was played 15-a-side to maximize all players game time.
No conversions were taken.
A good foundation to build on ahead of next Sundays home match v Mackie RFC.
