Aberdeen Wanderers Vets team enter the 8th Scottish Golden Oldies Rugby Festival

Aberdeen Wanderers have entered a team into the 8th Scottish Golden Oldies Rugby Festival on 21st May, which is being held in Forfar this year.

The team, known this year as the WOMBATs (Wanderers Old Men Battling Against Time), hope to repeat last year's success of coming first in the festival, but they know there is tough competition.

The WOMBATs are managed by Marc Muir and Mike Westwood and, as well as keeping fit and playing the game, the aim is to allow the 'older' club members to have as much fun as possible in a competitive rugby environment.

This year the festival is being jointly organised by two Clubs – Brechin JRFC (BRUCE) and Strathmore RFC and will be held at Strathmore RFC, Inchmacoble Park, Forfar.

The day will be packed with fun both on and off the pitch and supporters are actively encouraged to come along.
