The game started well for Granite City with Johnny Cadden and Finlay MacLean both scoring in the first 6 minutes, we continued to apply pressure to the Gordonstoun defence and although we had long spells of possession we were unable to make the possession count. Gradually Gordonstoun were coming more into to the game and got on the scoreboard when they scored a long range try with only a few minutes of the half remaining and would of scored another if not for a try saving tackle by Jonny Cadden right on half time.
The second half was a tighter affair with both teams looking threatening with the ball, Gordonstoun scored first to give them the advantage before Finlay MacLean scored his 2nd of the match on 37 minutes. It wasn’t long before Gordonstoun hit back as they ran through some weak tackling to score again before tries from Finlay Smeaton and Johnny Cadden gave Granite City a decisive lead, Gordonstoun did score another try but Sebastian Aitken scored late to seal a 21-14 victory.
