This was the first outing for the Granite City Colts at any age group, and the U18's get off to a good start with an away win at Montrose. Having played no rugby since early December and with very little contact training this was always going to be a difficult fixture. Montrose played their part in what was quite a tense fixture due to lack of recent game time and some rustiness. Despite this the newly formed Colts maintained their composure, dominated at scrum time taking several crucial strikes against the head, played some good go forward rugby going through the phases and were able to convert pressure into points when it mattered. This win puts the U18's through to the QF of the Caledonia U18's Cup. Well done to our scorers, Itthiphon Sutthikorn, Scott Byars, Guy Davis and Alasdair Glen with one try each, and Gavin Rooney with a conversion. Well done to our man of the match Michael McCall.
