Wanderers take the victory 27-23 over local rivals Aberdeen Grammar in the most keenly anticipated game of the season so far.

Having drawn Grammar in the first round of the Caledonia U18 Cup it was bound to be a cracking fixture!! It did not disappoint.
The boys were really up for this one and with so little rugby played over the last few months it was great that the game went ahead in good conditions. The support was also there in numbers too.
We only had to wait 3 minutes for the first points when Wanderers were penalised for offside. Grammar kicked the points to go 3–0 up. Wanderers got on the score sheet just a few minutes later with a well work move down the line for Alex Paterson, who still had plenty to do, to score a great try in the corner. A splendid conversion from George Colleran took the score to 3–7.
Some good hard driving from the forward lead to Wanderers being awarded a penalty about 7 meters from the oppositions line. A tap penalty by the unstoppable Davy Taylor saw him drive over for Wanderers 2nd try of the game. 3–12.
Grammar replied 6 minutes later with a beautifully struck penalty from 40 meters. 6–12. Changes had to be made on the half hour after an injury to Damien Gennochio and Wanderers suffered another blow when an obvious knock on, by the Grammar centre as the ball went down the line, was missed by the referee (but not by all on the touch line) and they scored. The team and the support were stunned when he awarded the try.
HT 16–12.
Wanderers lost their shape a little after half time and it was Grammar to score first after the break with a chip through and dive by the winger sneaked the touch down. 23-12.
Wanderers however responded well and on the hour Carwyn Walker went over for Wanderers 3rd try. 23–17. And five minutes later after some good forwards pressure Wanderers scored again with a try from Arif Muhammad. 23–24.
Again good pressure from the forwards resulted in a penalty which was put into the corner for a line out. A great catch and drive by Duncan Mullins saw him go over and touch down but the ref judged it to have been held up.
A few minutes later another infringement lead to a Wanderers penalty. This time George Colleran took the 3 points. 23 - 27.
A nail biting last 7 minutes ensued as Wanderers held out to take the victory.
Well done to all the squad and to MOM- Arif Muhammad.
