Wanderers P5's invited to Scotstoun by Glasgow Warriors on Sat 9th Sept to take part in a mini-festival.

Complete with a bus load of travelling support Wanderers P5's travelled to Glasgow on Saturday to take part in a mini-festival ahead of the Pro 14 match.

Despite hold-ups on the M8 meaning a late arrival, the boys came off the bus and straight onto the pitch ready for action and recorded an impressive first win against Cartha with some fast running rugby and excellent defensive tackling in the sunny conditions.

Unfortunately with a couple of boys picking up injuries and the tournament running slightly behind schedule resulting in shorter rest time between matches and matches themselves shortened to only 6 minutes the next 2 close matches didn't go Wanderers way, however the boys played well in both and gave a good account of themselves. Wanderers came very close to scoring more tries in each game, with only the touch lines narrowly preventing further touch downs, with a full length game there would have undoubtedly been some more Wanderers tries to come.

However after playing well against some unfamiliar teams the boys then got the chance to help form a guard of honor and cheer the Pro 14 players onto the pitch in front of the 7,000+ strong crowd before heading to the stands to watch the match itself.

A close first half ended at 10 v 10, but with Wanderers cheering on from the sidelines in fine voice Glasgow dominated the 2nd half to record a bonus point 31 v 10 victory against the Welsh side. The P5 boys (and Mums) then got the chance to meet some of the Warriors and Scotland hero's after the match to claim selfies and autographs with returning British Lion Finn Russel a firm favorite. It was then back on the bus to head back to Aberdeen. Overall a great family rugby day out - big thanks to all the family members who traveled to support the guys and to those who also met us there on the day.
