AWYRFC P6/7 v Kirkcaldy P6/7

The Kirkcaldy P6 and P7 teams made the trip up North with their Micros and S1/2 teams for a day of games at Groats Road.

For the P6/7 teams, it started with the P6 teams playing against each other. The game was 8 a side, 10 minutes each way and Kirkcaldy scored a try right from the off, putting the Wanderers on the back foot. During the next few minutes it was evenly matched and each team pushed hard to keep possession. However Kirkcaldy managed to break through the Wanderers defense and scored another try. The second half saw Kirkcaldy score a further 3 tries, making the final score 5 nil to the visiting side.

The next game was the P7s, same format as the first one. This time the Wanderers were on top from the start. The Wanderers P7s held their own and pushed hard to ensure they were always up onto Kirkcaldy's try line. Kirkcaldy's defense was strong, but not strong enough for the Wanderers to score 8 tries, however, Kirkcaldy managed to break through once and score a try. Final score 8 - 1 to Wanderers.

The final game was a mixed P6/7 Wanderers versus Kirkcaldy 15 a side, 10 minute game. The pitch size was increased to ensure there was enough space for all the players to find space and for this game a 5 man scrum was played. It was a good game for all players, each wanting to ensure their team won the final match. The Wanderers team were the stronger team putting 3 tries passed Kirkcaldy in an exciting end to the day. Final score 3 - 0 to Wanderers.
