Groats Road is part of Scottish Rugby's #BeTheBestYou campaign

On Sunday 2nd April, Aberdeen Wanderers RFC hosted a come and try event for ladies interested in rugby as part of Scottish Rugby's #BeTheBestYou campaign.

#BeTheBestYou is a national campaign to get more ladies playing rugby union in Scotland after a successful ladies 6-nations tournament this year.

The event saw some ladies pick up a rugby ball for the first time and being taught the basics of passing, tackling and kicking in a safe and friendly atmosphere by coaches and experienced players.

Another similar event will be run at Groats Road in the coming months, so if you missed out, don't worry.

The Under 15s will be playing Biggar U15 girls in the National Girls Club Cup Semi-Final while the Under 18s meet Annan U18 girls in the Shield Semi-Final in the same competition.

Kick off times will be confirmed in the next few days, but if you are free, come on down to Groats Road to support the girls.
